Swinging Monkey

10 Sep

This has to be the biggest, cheeziest smile that I have seen on this little boy, he was sure enjoying that swing!

One Very Happy Boy!

One Very Happy Boy!

Monday we had an appointmentwith Kaeden’s doctor (his 2 year checkup) he is 24 pounds and about 2 1/2 feet tall. He didn’t have to get any shots, but did get his cold checked up on, it’s just a cold 🙂 He impressed the doctor by taking her stethoscope and listening to her heart with it-very clever little man!
Later that day, we spoke with Children’s Hospital and scheduled Kaeden’s surgery for October 3rd. Which makes the first week of October very busy. We have an appointmentwith his geneticist and orthopedist on Monday (the 29th) an appointmentwith his Cardiologist and Nephrologist (kidney) on Thursday (the 2nd) and surgery on Friday (the 3rd). Please continue to keep Kaeden in your prayers.

The Beautiful Pacific NorthWest

10 Sep

There are so many reasons that I love living here. The end of sunny days is coming so we have been taking advantage by going to the park as much as possible (funny that we only went to the park a handful of times all summer and now that it’s almost over, we go every day!) We took a couple pictures of the view, one of the reasons that I love it here in the Pac. N.W.

Don’t Butt Out!

5 Sep

There is the belief that people long for what they don’t have. This applies to many things from hair to body types to kids and families. When I was in Colorado, away from my family, I spent so much time wishing that I were with my friends and family that I forgot to enjoy the time I had there. Once I moved home, although I was thankful to be home and with my friends an family…there were times I wished they weren’t there. Be honest, there are times that you wish that people would butt out and just go away…but in a good way 🙂

I was browsing a wonderful friends blog tonight and came across a posting from March when she was being visited by her mom. Her parents and in-laws live in CA and she lives here in WA. Although it hasn’t come upon me lately that I wish people would just let me be, it really made me think about the times when people had a SLEW of advice that I didn’t want! (mostly when I was pregnant or Kaeden was first born-seems like EVERYONE knows how to do it better during pregnancy and the first year!)

For those of us who have our family around (maybe too much at times) and get frusterated with them spending too much time in our “personal space”or our business, we too easily forget what it is like when they aren’t there. I love watching Kaeden with our families and I love having my parents around. But I do take it for granted and forget that not everyone is as lucky as I am. So, for those of you who are missing your family right now, I am sorry that I take my time with family granted. For my family, that I adore, please, never butt out and go away!

(PS. Erin, thank you for your blog!)

Chasing Pigeons

5 Sep

Tuesday I took an extra day off, after camping all weekend, to take Kaeden to see the surgeon that is going to finally remove the cyst from the back of his head. We are Very excited that this is FINALLY going to happen, but very scared at the same time. We don’t have a date yet, but hopefully soon! The whole procedure should only take about 20-30 minutes, but will help avoid a lifetime of pain for the little man. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as we await the surgery.

After his appointment, and a nap, we took him to the park @ Mukilteo Beach to play. The park is pretty new, we haven’t seen it yet. It’s really neat, but geared toward kids a little older than Kaeden. Being the clever but crazy 2 year old he is, though, Kaeden made the best of the park by chasing the pigeons!

Happy Birthday Buddy!

3 Sep

Today was Kaeden’s birthday. We are extremely blessed that we have such a wonderful little boy in our lives! He makes me look at the world differently, in a good way. I thank God every day for blessing us with Kaeden!

We went to the park today and had a picnic of Fried Chicken, JoJo’s and Mac & Cheese! After dinner we flew Kaeden’s new kite, from his friend Benit.

I'm just going to drag it, it's easier!

There we go!

After the Kite action, we watched the boats in the water, then played on the toys where Kaeden made a friend.

Then, we went home and our 2 year old crashed right about the time he actually turned 2 @ 9:42PM.

Happy Birthday Buddy! We love you so much!
